Nayagan (Tamil), starring J.K. Ritesh, is being brought to Telugu audiences under the title Ankusam. Inspired by a Hollywood thriller, the film was a dark horse, when bigger movies with more established stars were performing abysmally at the box office. The film has now been dubbed with a few portions of the movie modified to appeal to Telugu audiences.

J.K. Ritesh and Srinath are the lead actors in this action film set against the mafia wars that rage in the city away from the public eye. Srinath and Sangeetha are playing the roles of doctors. Mariya Manohar, one of Mani Sharma's disciples, has scored the music.

Keerthi Chawla, Anita, Uttej, Jayaprakash Reddy, Rallapalli, Mallaikarjun Rao and Telangana Shakunatala and other are in the supporting star cast. Story, screenplay and production was by V.K. Vijayakumar Reddy and Saravanashakthi was the director of the original.

The Telugu is in DTS mixing stage and expected to hit theatres very soon.
