Gaddar handed over the first cassette to BJP state president Bandaru Dattatreya, while MLA Yarrabilli Dayakar Rao released the audio CDs and handed over the first piece to heroine Sindhu Tulani. The producers felicitated Bheemreddy Narasimha Reddy, who participated in the Telangana armed struggle.
The film has been directed by T Prabhakar, presented by Dr T Rajeswara Rao and produced by Ponugoti Saraswati Rammohana Rao and Makkapati Vanaja Chandrasekhar Rao under the banner of Kakatiya Films. Sindhu Tulani is playing the lead role.
Speaking on the occasion, Gaddar said, "The festival is a must celebration for the people of the region. Even those who are very poor and could not eke out a good living would invite their sisters to celebrate the Batukamma festival."
Bandaru Dattatreya calls for the safeguarding of Telangana culture and tradition. Ch Vidyasagar Rao said, "The producers should bring out films on the heroes, who participated in the Telangana armed struggle and also those who laid down their lives."
Immediately, noted producer R Narayana Murthy declared that he would bring out a film called Veera Telangana on the subject.
Sindhu Thulani, T Prabhakar, Gorati Venkanna, Andesri, Tammareddy Bharadwaja, N Shankar, Sivakumar, Mallu Swarajyam, Ch Hanumantha Rao, Desana China Mallaiah, Hari, P Rammohana Rao and Sridhar Reddy of Madhura Entertainments participated.
