Chiranjeevi troubles Arya 2 and Magadheera

The Praja Rajyam Party chief K Chiranjeevi, father of Ram Charan Teja, proposed for a hunger strike for a united Andhra Pradesh. Adding to it a few multiplexes and cinema theaters in Hyderabad stopped screening of Allu Arjun-starrer Arya 2 and Magadheera following a call given by the Joint Action Committee (JAC) to boycott the movies in protest against the proposed hunger strike. Allu Arjun is a relative of Chiranjeevi. Magadheera features his son Ram Charan Teja as the hero. The protestors have also decided not to allow screening of films featuring Chiranjeevi's actor brothers Pawan Kalyan and Naga Babu.

Arya 2 is being screened across 17 theaters in Hyderabad including Sandhya, Manju, Venkatareddy, Sri Ramulu, Sarada, Eswar, Bhujanga, Nagendra, Sri Krishna. Most of the theater managements have sought the help of private security guards for screening the film. Allu Arjun and Kajal Agarwal fans made a beeline in front of ticket counters for Arya 2. The party is set for split regarding the ongoing dispute. Chiranjeevi has pressure from party members to resign his MLA position too.
