The life history of 'Tyagayya' is being moulded on the celluloid for the third time in Telugu language under the direction of Singeetam Srinivasa Rao with Eswara Prasad playing the title role. Chidroopa Lakshmi is playing his wife's role. Produced by RV Ramanamurthy under the banner of Lalitasri Combines, the film has music from maestro Ilayaraja.

The shooting of the film was formally launched in Hyderabad in the presence of several top political and film personalities. Rajya Sabha member T Subbarami Reddy switched on the camera, while minister K Rosaiah gave the clap for the muhurat shot.

Director said, "We have started a great yagna. There are certain subjects which are always interesting despite revealing the story several times. We are trying to highlight the great events in Tyagayya's life besides his friendship with his contemporaries Muttuswamy Deekshitulu and Shyama Sastry, who were known as the 'Sangeeta Trimurthulu'. We are making efforts to attract all classes of audiences through our movie. We have started the regular shooting from today and are making efforts to release the film in May."

Camera is by Ashokkumar, music by Ilayaraja, while story and production are by RV Ramana Murthy.
