Susi's Mallanna was not for Vikram

Vikram and Shreya Saran are playing the lead roles, while Krishna is playing a key role in Mallanna directed by Susi Ganeshan and produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu under the banner of V Creations. The post-production works are almost nearing completion.

Producer Thanu said, “The songs tuned by Devisri Prasad have become very popular and the audio is a big hit. Not only as hero, Vikram has earned a good name as a singer through this film. Sahiti has given melodious lyrics to all the songs. We are making efforts to release the film in August.

Vikram said, “I never approached any director for a role. For the first time, I asked for a role with director Shankar. Next, it is Susi Ganeshan. After watching his film Tiruttu Payale, I had a strong feeling to work in his direction. He narrated me 10 stories and I liked Mallanna very much. However, he refused to give that story to me as he had prepared it for some other hero. But I insisted that I wanted to do that role as I was very much impressed with the subject and the character. It is an extraordinary film. Susi has brought out the film excellently." Cinematography is by Ekambaram while Thota Tarani is the art director.
