The
Andhra
Pradesh
State
Human
Rights
Commission
(APSHRC)
on
Saturday
banned
television
reality
show
Aata-5
stating
that
it
had
violated
child
rights.
The
commission
has
banned
the
show
with
immediate
effect,
after
few
organizations
lodged
a
complaint
with
APSHRC
saying
that
the
show
portrays
children
in
vulgar
and
objectionable
manner.

Justice
B
Subhashan
Reddy
has
directed
Commissioner
of
Police
A
K
Khan
to
prohibit
similar
shows
under
Cable
Television
Networks
(Regulation)
Act
1995.
The
commission
also
observed
that
the
advertisements
and
programmes
with
indecent
representation
of
woman
should
also
be
banned
under
the
Indecent
Representation
of
Women
(Prohibition)
Act,
1986.
APSHRC
chairman
said
that
he
has
seen
few
episodes
of
the
show
and
feels
that
such
shows
will
harm
the
mental
and
physical
growth
of
the
child.
