Magadheera sweeps South Scope Cine Awards

SS Rajamouli directed Blockbuster Telugu movie Magadheera has swept the Lux Sandal South Scope Cine Awards 2010 by bagging six top awards out of 12 awards. The event was held at Hitech International Conventional Centre, Novotel in Hyderbad on this Sunday evening (19th September, 2010). Meanwhile, the movies like Arundhati and Koncham Ishtam Koncham Kashtam won two awards each.

The South Scope Cine Awards 2010 was a star-studded event, which witnessed the huge gathering of who's who of Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam film fraternity. Mega star Chiranjeevi, producers D Ramanaidu and Allu Aravind's presence was the highlight of the show. Especially the very arrival of Chiru had brought a kind of excitement in film goers gathered at the seven star hotel in Hyderabad. The moment he got out of his car, his fans' cheer filled the air and hit the roof and it continued till he reached his seat and waved his hands towards them.

Producer D Ramanaidu, who was recently honoured with Dada Saheb Palke award, was facilitated with the title the 'Legend of South Indian Film Industry'. Multilingual actress Sridevi and her husband and producer Bony Kapoor gave the award to him. Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi and Allu Aravind remembered his contribution to Indian Cinema. They said, "He started his filmy career in 1964 and so far he has produced movies in almost all Indian languages like Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Assamese, Oriya, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Hindi. He is one of the rare film producers, whom India has seen ever."

However, actors Prabhu Deva, Madhavan, Bramhanand, Ram Charan Teja, Puneet Rajkumar, Jaggesh, Diganth, Yash, Prabu, Prakash Raj, Shriya Saran, Nayantara, Rekha, Radhika Pandit, Nidhi Subbaiah, Bindu Madhavi, Rima Kallinghal, Mamta Mohandas, Charami, Anushka Shetty, Tamanna Bhatia, Singer Anoop, Comedian Salim Khan, Yogaraj Bhat, Producer Rockline Venkatesh and several others attended the function. But South Indian superstars like Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan, Venkatesh, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna, Ravi Teja, Ambareesh, Ravichandran, Mammootty and Mohanlal's absence disappointed many audience who attended the event.
