Bellamkonda Suresh says, "There was a tough competition for the remake rights and we bagged the opportunity to remake the film. The shooting of the film would begin in May. In Kannada, both Apthamitra and Aaptha Rakshaka were sensational hits. In fact, Aaptha Rakshaka had collected over Rs 40 crore. When I approached Venkatesh, he gave his immediate nod after watching the original. In fact, it is a tailor-made story for Venkatesh. Earlier, the combination of Vasu and Venkatesh was a big hit with Chanti. We are sure that this remake would also create waves in the Telugu film industry. It would be another prestigious movie on our banner."
It is well aware that Aaptha Rakshaka was the sequel of Apthamitra. Both the films were directed by P Vasu. Many of the films directed by him were remade in Telugu. Gossips made rounds that the film would be dubbed and there was another talk in the Film Nagar that the film would be remade in Telugu. Bringing down curtains on all the rumours, Bellamkonda Suresh of Sri Sai Ganesh Productions announced that the film would be remade in Telugu again in P Vasu direction with Venkatesh as hero.
