Vijayashanti replies to EC over hate speech row

Actress-turned-politician Vijayashanti has submitted her reply to the Election Commission(EC) over the hate speech row. EC served the notice to her for violating the model code of conduct and making inflammatory speeches ahead of by elections on July 27.

Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) leader and MP Vijayashanti in her to reply to EC has said that media has mis-quoted her and she said that it was a quote of a poem, which is written by legendary poet Kaloji Narayana Rao and she justified it by saying that the quotes are not provocative.

The actress was also arrested on Saturday for making alleged inflammatory remarks on June 30 and soon released out on bail. Earlier, she had reportedly asked the Telangana supporters to “chop down the foes of Telangana."
