Ileana replaces Shruti Hassan in Gabbar Singh

The decision is made. The makers of Gabbar Singh, who threw out Shruti Hassan to rope in a A-list actress, has finalised the leading lady for the forthcoming Telugu movie. Well, who else can add more value than Ileana D'Cruz, the highest paid actress of the South Indian films? Yes, the Kick gal has been approached to romance Pawan Kalyan in the upcoming film.

Sources say that producer Ganesh has recently approached Ileana and offered the female lead role. He met the actress on the sets of her forthcoming Telugu movie with Allu Arjun and discussed about his plans. The actress, who paired up with Pawan Kalyan in Jalsa, is likely to sign the project, which is expected to start in December.

Earlier, the makers of Gabbar Singh were worried about Shruti Hassan's career going downhill with every flop movies to her credits. Producer Ganesh, who is making the forthcoming Telugu movie with the budget of Rs 40 crore, reportedly felt that the movie requires an A-list actress to play the female lead role. Hence, he dropped Shruti from the upcoming movie.

Gabbar Singh is a remake of Bollywood blockbuster Dabangg. The Telugu version features Abhimanyu Singh, Ajay, Suhasini Maniratnam, Brahmanandam and others in the cast. The movie is directed by Harish Shankar.
