Ileana tops South Indian actresses' remuneration list

Despite allegations surrounding her attitude, Ileana D'Cruz has managed to top the remuneration chart. The Goan beauty has overtaken Southern actresses like Trisha Krishnan and Anushka Shetty to become the highest paid lass of the regional film industry. Here we bring you the remuneration list of top five highly paid actresses.

Remuneration: Rs. 1.25 crore
Ileana's recent films might have bombed at the box-office but the actress continues to be the highest paid actress of South India. Reports suggest that the actress gets a whopping paycheck of Rs.1.25 per film and some where around she gets additional 25 to 40 lakhs for other expenses. However, her upcoming Tamil film Nanban and her Bollywood debut film Barfee will decide whether she could hold the fort for the current year on not.

Trisha Krishnan's dream top be on top got a big blow after her first Bollywood outing Khatta Meetha failed to fetch her desirable reviews. Adding to that her much-hyped movie Manmadhan Ambu also bombed at the box-office despite getting positive remarks for her acting. The actress reportedly receives Rs. 1 crore for a film. Of late, she has been considered as a remake queen. Her Telugu movie Teen Maar, which is the Telugu version of Bollywood movie Love Aaj Kal and her upcoming movie with Venkatesh, which is a remake of Malayalam movie Bodyguard, have bought her this tag. However, she has pinned her hopes on Ajith Kumar's Mangaatha.

Anushka Shetty's career has been a mixed bag of hits and flops. Telugu movie Vedam and Tamil films Singam and Vaanam were superhits. Adding to that the moderate success of Nagavalli and Ragada have almost brought her on top of the list. According to industry insiders, the actress gets Rs. 1 crore a film and the producers have to bear her other staff's bills. She lost out a golden opportunity to Kajal Aggarwal, when she declined the offer to make her Bollywood debut in Singam. Nonetheless, she has as many as four releases in the second half of the current year. Her high hopes are on Vikram's Deiva Thiumagal and Prabhas starrer Rebel.

Remuneration: 90 lakhs to 1 crore
Kajal Aggarwal's career graph started going up after Magadheera and Arya 2. Her last year's release Darling, Brindavanam and Tamil movie Naan Mahaan Alla's success made her to be the most sought after actress, while the positive response for Mr.Perfect have made her to be the strong contender for the No.1 spot. The actress, who is making her debut in Bollywood opposite Ajay Devgn, has hiked her pay now. It is said that the Punjabi girl demands 90 lakhs to 1 crore a film. She has also signed Pawan Kalyan's Gabbar Singh, Mahesh Babu's The Businessman and Tamil movie Maatraan.

Remuneration: 75-80 lakhs
Tamanna Bhatia is being considered as the next big star of the South Indian film industry. In the current year, she has delivered three hits like Siruthai and Ko in Tamil and 100% Love in Telugu. Her recent mega-budget movie Badrinath is doing good business even after getting bad reviews from the critics. Industry insiders claim that with these hits, the actress might demand a crore for her future projects. In her kitty, she has biggies like Junior NTR's Ooservelli and Ram Charan Teja's next film. Her next Tamil release is Dhanush starrer Venghai.

Meanwhile, Asin Thottumkal, Genelia D'Souza and Sameera Reddy, who also act in Bollywood, also get a huge paycheck. Other actresses Hansika Motwani and Tapasee, who have seen success in the recent times, get close to Rs. 40 lakhs.
