Shruti Hassan isn't dropped from Gabbar Singh!

The confusion over the female lead of forthcoming Telugu movie Gabbar Singh has come to an end. A few days ago, there were widespread reports that Shruti Hassan has been replaced by Ileana D'Cruz. However, director Harish Shankar has lambasted the rumours and has claimed that the Oh My Friend actress is still part of the movie.

Director Harish Shankar took to Twitter to clarify the news. He wrote, “Shruti Hassan is the Heroine of Gabbar Singh. Guys pls ignore all rumors, She is super excited about her character in GS. She joins the shoot from Dec." He further said, “Don't trust any news regarding GS until unless it's given by me nd my producer Ganesh garu."

Meanwhile, Shruti Hassan has also clarified that she is playing the female lead role in Gabbar Singh, a remake of Bollywood movie Dabangg. The actress said that she is not sure from where these news are coming up. The 25 year old is happy to work in the forthcoming Telugu project and the Tollywood audience has started liking more after watching her in the recently released movie 7th Sense.

Earlier, it was reported that the makers of Gabbar Singh were worried about Shruti Hassan's career going downhill with every flop movies to her credits. Producer Ganesh, who is making the forthcoming Telugu movie with the budget of Rs 40 crore, reportedly felt that the movie requires an A-list actress to play the female lead role. Hence, he dropped Shruti from the upcoming movie and roped in Ileana.
