Director
SS
Rajamouli's
latest
Telugu
movie
Eega
has
finally
become
the
highest
grosser
Telugu
movie
at
the
USA
Box
Office.
The
graphical
action
thriller
has
crossed
Rs
1
million
dollar
mark
in
the
country
in
the
third
weekend.
With
this,
the
film
has
surpassed
the
collection
record
of
Pawan
Kalyan's
Gabbar
Singh
and
Mahesh
Babu's
Dookudu
in
very
short
span
of
time.
The
Sudeep-Samantha
starrer
movie
had
received
a
superb
response
at
all
the
screens
in
America
with
its
collection
reaching
Rs
3.64
crores
in
the
four
day
extended
first
weekend.
The
movie
was
expected
to
fetch
even
better
figures
in
the
country.
But
the
movie
was
released
on
limited
number
of
screens
due
to
unavailability
of
cinema
halls.
The
makers
of
the
movie
Eega
have
increased
the
number
of
shows
and
also
released
it
on
20
more
screens
in
the
country
in
the
second
week.
So
the
film
added
another
Rs
1.35
crore
to
its
total
collection
Rs
4.99
crore
nett
at
the
USA
Box
Office
in
the
second
weekend.
It
surpassed
the
Rs
5
crore
mark
in
the
second
week.
But
the
producers
of
Eega
added
the
English
sub-titles
in
the
third
week
of
its
release
following
the
huge
demand
from
the
local
English
audience
in
America.
The
movie
saw
a
big
jump
in
its
business
with
its
collection
crossing
Rs
1
million
dollar
mark
in
the
country
on
Saturday
(July
21).
It
also
did
good
business
on
Sunday.
However,
so
far,
last
year's
release
Dookudu
and
recent
release
Gabbar
Singh
were
among
the
top
grossers
Telugu
movies,
which
have
crossed
Rs
1
million
dollar
mark
at
the
USA
Box
Office.
But
Eega
has
beaten
their
record
by
surpassing
the
mark
in
a
very
short
span
of
time.
It
has
become
the
highest
grosser
Telugu
movie
in
America.
