Aamir Khan Denies Remaking Chiranjeevi's Rudraveena In Hindi

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, who is busy promoting his movie Dhoom 3, has slammed the reports that he is planning to remake Megastar Chiranjeevi's 25-year-old Telugu release Rudraveena in Hindi. It was recently rumoured that he had watched this 1988 Tollywood classic. Impressed with it, he has expressed his interest in playing the lead in its Hindi version. It was also reported that he had requested K Balachander to direct the new version.

Along with the members with the Dhoom 3 team, Aamir Khan attended a promotional event of the film in Hyderabad on Tuesday. When quizzed about the Hindi remake of Telugu movie Rudraveena, Mr Perfectionist of Bollywood ruled out the reports. The actor said, "I've no plans to remake Rudraveena in Hindi. I don't know how these rumours began."

Written and directed by K Balachander, Rudraveena is the story of a classical singer, who believes in changing society through his music and will power. Actors Chiranjeevi, Shobana and Gemini Ganesan played the lead roles in the movie, which released in theatres on March 4, 1988. Following its success, the director remade this movie in Tamil as Unnal Mudiyum Thambi, which featured Superstar Kamal Hassan in the lead role.
