Srinu Vaitla's latest directorial venture Baadshah starring Junior NTR and Kajal Aggarwal in leads is an action masala entertainer and it has garnered positive reviews from film critics, who have praised NTR's performance, Srinu's direction and Brahmanandam's comedy as the main highlights of the movie.
Baadshah has simple story, but the presentation of the subject on screen is superb and grand. Baadshah (NTR) is an intelligent and aggressive guy, who works under international don Sadhu Bhai (Kelly Dorji). His father Ranjan (Mukesh Rushi) is a trusted aide of Sadhu and he operates a profitable casino in Macau. How he rebels against Sadhu, when the latter plans to finish off him and his dad, will form the crux of the story.
The movie has all the commercial elements to rock the mass. Junior NTR's performance is the main attraction in it. Srinu Vaitla's interesting narration, S Thaman's rocking music, excellent picturisation, Gopimohan and Kona Venkat's punch dialogues and funny one-lines, Brahmanandam and MS Narayana's rib-tickling comedy, exotic locales and beautiful costumes are its other highlights.
However, Baadshah has received rich and generous ratings from film critics. The movie has been rated an average of 3.25 out of 5. Continue to read film critics' verdict in slide show.
Overall, Baadshah is a good masala entertainer, which has excellent performance by lead actors and sound production values. The movie impresses all kinds of audience. It is a treat for NTR fans. Don't miss to watch the Young Tiger in action.
What works in favour of the film, besides comedy, is NTR's energetic performance. He has good screen presence and is in top form. Kajal Aggarwal as the do-gooder, always ready with moral science gyaan is fun to watch. Tanikella Bharani, Nasser, Navdeep and Suhasini are convincing in their parts. Mahesh Babu's voiceover in the opening scene is an added attraction and so is Siddharth's cameo. Don't go expecting something new and don't try to analyse and the film will entertain you, in parts.
Writer Kona Venkat has penned some interesting comic-one liners and powerful punch lines, but that's not enough for this much-awaited film to live up to the big expectations. Even though, the famed director-writer duo have many hits in their kitty, it's high time, they discover a new winning formula since all their films are beginning to look alike.
Baadshah is a film that serves you with Seenu Vaitla kind of entertainment using NTR and Brahmanandam in an effective way. NTR has got a film with good Box Office potential after a long gap. It's up to the star power of NTR and brand value of Seenu Vaitla to take it further.
The story is no different than a usual Sreenu Vaitla film, but it is highly entertaining despite glaring loopholes and cliches. Sreenu stretches a simple revenge drama to the edge by greatly relying on comedy and high-octane action sequences. Not only does he succeed in this attempt, but also proves once again that his formula of filmmaking is error-free.
Baadshah will please NTR fans and it is sure to mint big money at the Box Office due to season advantage. Brahmanandam and NTR comedy is going to be the major crowd pulling element for this film. This film has potential to score a hit and it is up to NTR's star power to take it to the next level.
Baadshah is a super feast for all NTR fans. A stylish looking NTR and some hilarious comedy is a major asset for this film. Go watch this film with your complete family as Baadshah is a breath of cool air in this hot and humid summer. A Must Watch.
Bramhanandam is the HERO of the film after NTR.... I am Fire... I am the Fire would be heard on road ways, corridors for few more weeks guaranteed.
Baadshah would be a light movie to catch after a hard day's work.
