National award winning art director Thota Tharani is giving it as much as he can to make upcoming Telugu period-drama Rudhramadevi visually grand. Director Gunasekhar, who has fallen in love with his art direction, has all praise for his work. He describes it as awe inspiring.
Director Gunasekhar told IANS, "The sets that he (Thota Tharani)
has recreated for this film will be highly talked about because his
work is awe inspiring. He has already designed several sets for the
film. Currently, we are shooting a song on a set of a queen's
chamber in Annapurna Studios."
Besides direction, Gunasekhar is also producing the movie Rudhramadevi and he has shelled out huge amount of money on various of the film. The filmmaker added, "This particular set cost us several crore. Since the story is set in the 13th century, a lot of effort was put into research and detailing of each set. We have nearly completed fifty percent of the film so far."
Rudhramadevi, which is also produced by Gunasekhar, features Anushka Shetty and Rana Daggubati in lead roles. Other actors such as Krishnam Raju, Aditi Chengappa, Nathalia Kaur and Zara Shah will be seen in important roles. Touted as India's first stereoscopic 3D film, Rudhramadevi features Anushka in the role of Rani Rudhramadevi, a prominent queen of the Kakatiya dynasty.
