Recently,
Seethamma
Vakitlo
Sirimalle
Chettu,
Naayak
and
Mirchi
had
created
big
howl
at
the
USA
Box
Office.
But
of
late,
Telugu
movies
are
not
trending
well
in
America.
Last
week,
it
was
Jabardasth,
which
failed
to
make
its
mark
and
was
withdrawn
from
theatres
before
the
end
of
the
week.
And
this
weekend
another
big
release
like
Mr
Pellikoduku
has
met
the
same
fate
at
the
ticket
windows
there.
Mr
Pellikoduku,
which
is
a
remake
of
Hindi
film
Tanu
Weds
Manu,
is
one
of
the
most-hyped
movies
of
2013.
Despite
having
released
in
a
record
number
of
screens,
the
Sunil
and
Isha
Chawla
starrer
has
failed
to
make
it
big
in
the
country.
The
movie
has
collected
Rs
6.95
lakhs
($12,666)
at
the
USA
Box
Office
in
the
first
weekend.
It
has
become
a
big
debacle
there.
Whereas
Mirchi,
which
was
released
on
February
8,
has
continued
to
do
well
in
the
country
and
its
occupancy
is
much
better
than
the
new
release
Mr
Pellikoduku
in
its
fourth
weekend.
The
Prabhas-Anushka-Richa
starrer
film
has
collected
$6,144
from
6
screens
at
the
USA
Box
Office.
Now,
its
25-day
collection
is
Rs
3.47
crores
($6,31,712).
Meanwhile,
Seethamma
Vakitlo
Sirimalle
Chettu,
Naayak
and
Vishwaroopam
(Telugu)
are
still
running
in
a
few
screens
in
the
country
and
doing
fare
business.
In
their
eighth
weekend,
the
Mahesh
Babu-Venkatesh
starrer
has
collected
$720
from
2
screens,
taking
its
total
to
Rs
8.99
crores
($16,37,700),
while
Ram
Charan
Teja
starrer
added
$190
from
screen
to
its
total
Rs
2.71
crores
($4,94,330).
Whereas
in
its
sixth
weekend,
Vishwaroopam
(Telugu)
has
added
$313
from
1
screen
to
its
total
Rs
1.10
crores
($2,00,011).
