Veerabhadram-directed
movie,
which
has
hit
the
screens
on
October
25,
has
garnered
negative
reviews
from
film
critics
across
the
globe.
The
critics
feel
that
instead
of
focusing
on
good
story
and
screenplay,
the
director
has
given
more
importance
to
Nagarjuna's
heroism.

Bhai
is
a
romantic
action
movie,
and
besides
direction,
Veerabhadram,
who
has
done
hit
comedy
entertainers
like
Aha
Naa
Pellanta
and
Poola
Rangadu
in
past,
has
also
penned
story,
screenplay
and
dialogues
for
the
movie.
The
story
deals
with
the
main
henchman
of
international
who
comes
to
Hyderabad
on
a
mission
to
kill
an
undercover
cop
who
is
none
other
than
his
younger
brother.
How,
he
rescues
his
brother
from
the
don's
gang
will
form
the
crux
of
the
story.
The film critics have lauded Nagarjuna's performance, Veerabhadram's dialogues, Richa's glamour, Devi Sri Prasad's music, Sameer Reddy's picturisation, Brahmanandam's comedy and few other technical elements. But what upset them the most in the movie Bhai are tried-and-tested story, week screenplay, dragging narration and a few mindless scenes.

Oneindia - Rating: 2.5
Bhai is a good popcorn entertainer, and the concoction of commercial elements make it a mass film, which everybody would love to watch. It is must watch film for the fans of Nagarjuna, who is coming back to mass format after long time.

Unfortunately, Bhai is an ordeal to sit through unless you're interested in punch lines. Sample a few: 'He is the King, he takes decisions without discussions'; 'Bhai tho pettukunte chaavu ki tatkal ticket book chesinatte'; 'Mafia ki grammar techindi nene, nerpindi nene'; 'Mafia ane magazine ki Bhai cover story lantivaadu'. The last two perhaps refer to the trend Nagarjuna set with Shiva. We wouldn't know. But by the time the film ends, you'd be least interested in knowing it too. We just hope we get to see Nagarjuna in better and more deserving films.

The film is a one-time watch for families who have not been to the cinemas much of late. For regular movie-goers though, Bhai is just another passable film.

Bhai is neither a hyper-emotional Lawrence swashbukler nor an ultra-stylish Meher Ramesh hunk, although he comes across as a bit of both at regular intervals. He is an accidental don, who is malleable enough to turn into a sentimental Dasarath youngster overnight.

The director has concentrated more on unnecessary stuff like punch dialogues and hero elevation scenes. Those scenes and dialogues are not good too. Hence, the film ended up as a horrible affair that will test anyone. Nagarjuna fans and masses also will be disappointed with this.
123Telugu - Mahesh S Koneru's Rating: 2.25
Bhai came in with good expectations, riding on the back of a nice audio album from DSP. But the film fails to entertain. Poor screenplay, bad writing and terrible editing spoil the overall viewing experience. Bhai is a disappointment and it ends up as a damp squib.

Nagarjuna's Bhai has absolutely nothing to offer to movie lovers. But if at all, fans are expecting for an Diwali bonanza, I am sure this is going to make them pretty disappointed.

Bhai is a feast for Akkineni fans and fun for common audience. Nagarjuna's charismatic presence, Richa's glamour, Devisri Prasad's music and Sameer Reddy's cinematography makes Bhai worth a watch. Bhai has every chance to stand as one of the commercial hits in Nagarjuna's career.

If you are a fan of Nagarjuna and want to see him on the screen better go to one of his old movies instead of watching Bhai and repent for it. If you want to watch a good movie during the weekend, Bhai is certain to disappoint you. If you don't watch it, you will not miss anything but rather be saved from a bad taste in the mouth.

Bhai is a silly and senseless entertainer which fails to impress audience from all sections and centers. Ironically, a character in the film says - A, B, C centers anne Bhai ve. Devisri's music cannot save the film. Bhai has no chance to do well at the box-office. Nagarjuna will have to wait for some more time for a commercial hit. Forget about watching Bhai in theaters, you may skip it even when it comes on television.
