Photos: NT Ramarao now in Parliament forever!

Yuga Purushudu - Dr Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao's Bronze statue has been unveiled today in the Parliament. The bronze statue of Anna Garu is 9 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 900kgs.

Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao, the legendary actor, director, producer turned politician is family name among billions of Telugites around the world. NTR was unanimously elected as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh in the year 1983 under very controversial political situations with the Congress.

NTR's contribution to Telugu Cinema is un-fathomable. It is a given fact that without NTR the Telugu Cinema is like the World without a Sun. All his movies are treasured and cherished forever. His movies Maya Bazaar, Pathala Bhairavi, Missamma, Gundamma Katha, Paandava Vanavasam, Sri Krishna Paandaveeyam, Lava Kusha and many more movies are considered legendary. Many agree that these movies cannot be remade.

NTR established Telugu Desam Party and became Andhra Pradesh's Chief Minister unanimously in the year 1983. He remained Chief Minister even the next elections. Though many of his political mannerisms were considered overly dramatic, he remained the most powerful Telugite, both in politics and Telugu Cinema. NTR passed away on Jan 18, 1996. His daughter, Puranandareswari, is known as his Political successor. She is now the Minister of State for Human Resources Development from Indian National Congress.

Today, after 13 years of controversy, the installation of status of NT Rama Rao took place in Parliament House. The Bronze statue is sponsored by his daughter Purandareswari.

At 10:30 today morning, Sri Meera Kumar unveiled the statue of Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Sri LK Advani, Central Minister - Gulamnabi Ajad, Jairam Ramesh, Jaipal Reddy, Shinde and Chandrababu Naidu, his son Balakrishna, Junior NTR were among the attendees.
