A Nampally court has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Telugu actor-filmmaker Jeevitha and her actor husband Rajasekhar in a dud cheque case, police said Monday. Petitioner Paranadhama Reddy, a financier, filed a case after a cheque for Rs.36 lakh issued by the couple bounced due to insufficient funds in the account.
A police official of the Jubilee Hills station told IANS, "The case was filed few months back, but the couple failed to appear in court despite being summoned several times. Therefore, the court issued a non-bailable warrant and directed the police to take them into custody before Oct 29 and produce them in the court."
This is not the first time Rajasekhar and Jeevitha are involved in a cheque bounce case. In 2008, Proddatur Civil Judge Anitha had issued a non-bailable warrant against the couple in a cheque-bounced case filed by cine financier Nagaraju. This star couple had also faced the similar cases in 2010.
