Padmasri Dr K Viswanath unveiled the statue of multi-dimentional personality Sri Ajjada Adibhatla Narayanadasa on Wednesday. Versatile Film Director said that the father of Harikatha Parayanam has immortalised the Harikatha Parayana with his proficiency and contributed a lot to the various genres of art and literature.
The 149th birth anniversary celebrations of Adibhatla was held at Sri Venkateswara College of Music and Dance in Tirupati on September 04. Addressing the function, the director said that Sri Adibhatla has pioneered Harikatha, which is only unique to Telugu literature. He called upon the students to take the spirit of the greatest contributions done by Sri Adibhatla and enliventhe art of Harikatha.
K Viswanath added, "I am fortunate to be invited to take part in this great programme today. I have a great passion for traditional art and literature. I always emphasised on the same in my films also. You can also see some character with Harikatha background in most of my films, since Iregard Harikatha as one of the major media of arts to depict our rich tradition and culture in the society."
