Prabhas' Mirchi crosses Rs 40 crore mark at Box Office

Hyderabad: Koratala Shiva's debut directorial venture Mirchi starring Prabhas, Anushka and Richa in leads, has struck gold at the Box Office. The Telugu movie has surpassed Rs 40 crore mark at the worldwide collection centres in just 17 days. Trade experts say that this film has become the biggest opener and highest grosser in the career of the Rebel star. It is still running strong in many centres across globe.

Having soared up the viewers' curiosity to sky high, Mirchi released in large number of screens worldwide on February 8 and opened to an earth shattering response everywhere. The film did record breaking collection at the Box Office in the first week. Although several much-hyped movies like Okkadine, Chammak Challo, Pizza, David and Jabardasth have released in the following weeks, the Prabhas-Anushka-Richa starrer is still doing well at the ticket windows.

Reports suggest that Mirchi has raked in Rs 16 crores from its screens in Nizam and Ceded areas and collected Rs 18 crores from other areas of Andhra Pradesh in 17 days. The movie has grossed Rs 3.36 crores ($6,22,807) at the USA Box Office. Its collection in Karnataka and other parts of country is also good and has taken its grand total beyond Rs 40 crore mark by end of the third weekend.

However, Koratala Shiva's wonderful story and screenplay, Prabhas' excellent performance Anushka and Richa's glamour, Devi Sri Prasad's music and beautiful picturisation are the biggest strengths of the movie Mirchi. These aspects are the reasons for the huge success of the film. Now, the trade experts in Tollywood feel that the movie will cross Rs 50 crore mark at the Box Office very soon.
