Hyderabad:
Koratala
Shiva's
debut
directorial
venture
Mirchi
starring
Prabhas,
Anushka
and
Richa
in
leads,
has
struck
gold
at
the
Box
Office.
The
Telugu
movie
has
surpassed
Rs
40
crore
mark
at
the
worldwide
collection
centres
in
just
17
days.
Trade
experts
say
that
this
film
has
become
the
biggest
opener
and
highest
grosser
in
the
career
of
the
Rebel
star.
It
is
still
running
strong
in
many
centres
across
globe.
Having
soared
up
the
viewers'
curiosity
to
sky
high,
Mirchi
released
in
large
number
of
screens
worldwide
on
February
8
and
opened
to
an
earth
shattering
response
everywhere.
The
film
did
record
breaking
collection
at
the
Box
Office
in
the
first
week.
Although
several
much-hyped
movies
like
Okkadine,
Chammak
Challo,
Pizza,
David
and
Jabardasth
have
released
in
the
following
weeks,
the
Prabhas-Anushka-Richa
starrer
is
still
doing
well
at
the
ticket
windows.
Reports
suggest
that
Mirchi
has
raked
in
Rs
16
crores
from
its
screens
in
Nizam
and
Ceded
areas
and
collected
Rs
18
crores
from
other
areas
of
Andhra
Pradesh
in
17
days.
The
movie
has
grossed
Rs
3.36
crores
($6,22,807)
at
the
USA
Box
Office.
Its
collection
in
Karnataka
and
other
parts
of
country
is
also
good
and
has
taken
its
grand
total
beyond
Rs
40
crore
mark
by
end
of
the
third
weekend.
However,
Koratala
Shiva's
wonderful
story
and
screenplay,
Prabhas'
excellent
performance
Anushka
and
Richa's
glamour,
Devi
Sri
Prasad's
music
and
beautiful
picturisation
are
the
biggest
strengths
of
the
movie
Mirchi.
These
aspects
are
the
reasons
for
the
huge
success
of
the
film.
Now,
the
trade
experts
in
Tollywood
feel
that
the
movie
will
cross
Rs
50
crore
mark
at
the
Box
Office
very
soon.
