Prabhas' Mirchi beats Naayak collection record at Box Office

Hyderabad: Telugu film Mirchi, which has been directed by Koratala Siva, has fared very well at the USA Box Office in the first weekend. The movie starring Prabhas, Anushka Shetty and Richa Gangopadhyay in leads, has almost smashed the six days collection record of VV Vinayak directed super-hit flick Naayak in just three days in America.

Naayak, which had released in 52 screens in America on January 9, had received excellent response in the country. The Ram Charan Teja starrer action thriller had raked in Rs 2.11 crores nett ($ 387,808) at the USA Box Office in the six-day-extended first weekend. Its breakup was $ 62,742 on Tue, $ 80,375 on Wed, $ 24,867 on Thu, $ 73,533 on Fri and $ 94074 on Sat and Rs 52,217 on Sun.

Whereas much-hyped movie Mirchi graced 76 screens on February 7 in the USA, thereby beating the record of Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu (SVSC) and Naayak, which had released in 69 and 52 screens respectively, in the country. The film registered a record breaking opening at the American collection centres.

Mirchi has collected Rs 2.08 crores nett at the USA Box Office in three days and its fourth day figures are still being compiled. Trade experts say that its Sunday collection is much better than its performance on Saturday. Its breakup is $ 94,144 on Thu, $ 116,040 on Fri and $ 178,864 on Sat.
