Ram Charan's presence caused stampede in Vizag

On Sunday morning, Vizag saw hundreds of Vizagites making their way to the Andhra University Engineering Grounds to participate in the Olympic Day Run which was organized by the Vizag District Olympic Association (VDOA).

The association aimed at creating a world record by having one lakh attendees participate in the run and to this end. To get maximum turnover, they did their best, including roping in actor Ram Charan and inviting the CM among other MLAs to flag off the event. But instead of focusing on the run, Vizagites were star-struck on seeing Ram Charan Teja.

As soon as the actor came on the dais, the crowd got uncontrollable. To get closer to the actor, people were seen pushing each other while hooting and cheering for the star. The situation soon got out of hand, as a mini stampede ensued. But with timely intervention by the police force deployed at the venue, sanity was restored.

Despite the chaos, Vizag did manage to register a large participation and it seems, the city could well make the Guinness Book of World Records.
