Hyderabad: Telugu action extravaganza Eega has pocketed two National Film Awards on Monday and the film unit is very happy with these recognitions. But ace director SS Rajamouli does not seem to be very happy with the selection committee of this Awards as he wanted it to honour Kicha Sudeep's performance with an award.
Kannada star Kicha Sudeep, who played the antagonist in the film Eega, has given an excellent performance in the movie. His acting has been raved by both film critics and the movie goer across the globe. Hence, Telugu filmmaker SS Rajamouli was quite hopeful that his efforts would be honoured with this highly regarded National Film Awards.
Soon after the winners' list of 60th National Film Awards 2013 was announced, SS Rajamouli took to his Twitter page to thank his team members. The director tweeted, "Best Vfx is almost expected:) Personal congrats2Makuta.in particular to their young animation team for believing&working hard2archive that." He added, "Congratulations&thanks2 my producer Sai garu4 believing in content&emotion of eega and suresh babu garu4 his ability to envision my dream."
Meanwhile, SS Rajamouli expressed his disappointment over the decision of the selection committee for National Film Awards 2013. The filmmaker writes, "But I would have been really happy had Sudeep received the recognition for his extraordinary efforts. Eega is not the same without him."
