Actor Sunil Varma, who has so far starred in three remakes, is likely to be seen in yet another remake. If things fall in place, he will play the lead role in the upcoming Telugu remake of recent Tamil Blockbuster Sundarapandian. Telugu filmmaker Bheemineni Srinivasa Rao, who earlier remade Southern films like Tamizh Padam and Thirupaachi, will helm the new remake.
A source close to Bheemineni told IANS, "Sunil has been approached for the remake, but we haven't finalised anything yet. In a couple of weeks we would have something concrete. We know that Sunil, who watched the original, was happy with the film, and therefore, we are hoping he would come on board soon."
Character artiste-turned-hero Sunil has already acted in a few remake movies. His recent outings Maryada Ramanna, Mr Pellikoduku and Tadakha were the Telugu remakes of English classic comedy Our Hospitality, Hindi romantic-comedy Tanu Weds Manu and Tamil action-drama Vettai, respectively.
Sunil, who graduated from a comedian to the lead actor, is currently shooting for Telugu romantic-comedy Bheemavaram Bullodu. The actor is yet to give his consent for the remake of Sundarapandian. The source added, "If Sunil green-lights the project, regular shooting will start only after he completes his current film."
