Superstar
Mahesh
Babu's
latest
outing
Aagadu
has
received
superb
opening
and
made
fantastic
collection
at
the
USA
Box
Office
in
the
first
weekend.
The
Srinu
Vaitla-directed
film
has
topped
the
business
chart
in
America,
beating
Bollywood
movies
like
Khoobsurat
and
Daawat-e-Ishq.
But
it
has
failed
to
beat
the
first
weekend
record
of
Attarintiki
Daredi,
which
is
the
all-time
highest
grosser
Telugu
movie.
Aagadu,
which
set
a
new
record
by
releasing
in
159
screens
in
America,
was
expected
to
smash
all
the
previous
records
of
Tollywood.
The
movie
started
on
an
earth-shattering
note
on
its
opening
day,
but
its
business
went
down
considerably
on
the
following
days.
It
has
collected
Rs
8.44
crores
($
1,387,355)
from
130
screens
at
the
USA
Box
Office
in
the
first
weekend.
Mahesh
Babu's
2013
Sankranti
release
Seethamma
Vakitlo
Sirimalle
Chettu
(SVSC),
which
had
collected
$
12,62,100
[Rs.
6.87
crores]
on
69
screens
at
the
USA
Box
Office,
has
been
his
highest
grosser
in
opening
weekend.
Despite
releasing
in
105
screens
in
the
country,
his
2014
Sankranti
release
1:
Nenokkadine
raked
in
Rs
5.82
crores
($
946,552)
and
failed
to
beat
the
record
of
SVSC.
Though
his
latest
outing
has
beaten
this
record,
while
considering
its
screen
count,
its
per-screen
average
is
very
low.
However,
Attarintiki
Daredi
has
been
all
time
highest
grosser
Telugu
in
the
opening
weekend.
The
Pawan
Kalyan
starrer
film
has
collected
Rs
9.53
crores
($
15,22,734)
from
94
screens
at
the
USA
Box
Office.
Since
Aagadu
released
in
more
number
of
screens
than
the
former,
the
Mahesh
Babu
Starrer
was
expected
to
smash
this
record,
but
it
has
fallen
short
of
beating
Attarintiki
Daredi
with
a
big
margin.
