Sujoy Ghosh's Hindi film Kahaani starring Vidya Balan in the lead is one of the big hit suspense thrillers of Bollywood. Ace filmmaker Sekhar Kammula has remade this movie in Telugu as Anamika and in Tamil as Nee Enge En Anbe. Both these Southern versions, which have been creating positive buzz, ever since they were announced, have released in theatres across the globe today (May 1, 2014).
Popular South Indian actress Nayantara has reprised the role of Vidya Balan in both versions of Kahaani - Anamika and Nee Enge En Anbe. Vidya had appeared as pregnant woman in Kahaani. Whereas Sekhar Kammula changed her role and he has made her appear as a normal woman. This change in the role has created lot of curiosity among the south Indian film goers, who are eagerly waiting to see the movie.
Apart from Nayantara, Anamika and Nee Enge En Anbe also feature Pasupathy, Vaibhav Reddy, Sri Ranjani and Harshvardhan Rane in important roles. Along Yendamuri Virendranath, Sekhar Kammula has written the screenplay for both the versions, which is said to be the USP of these films. MM Keeravani has composed music for soundtracks and background score for these movies, while Vijay C Kumar handled the cinematography.
