I Support Narendra Modi, But Won't Contest Election: Lakshmi Manchu

Actress Lakshmi Manchu has declared her support for BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, but she has slammed the reports that she is going to contest the forthcoming elections. Her denial is coming after the speculation about her contesting the elections surfaced the net. She says that she is happy that media considers her a good leader, but she clarifies that she will not contest this election.

Along with her family members, Lakshmi Manchu had met the Gujarat CM during his recent election campaign in Hyderabad. Later, she had also posted several comments about Narendra Modi on her Twitter page. Her posts had fueled speculation about her entry into politics through forthcoming Assembly and Parliamentary elections. But she has ruled out the reports.

On Monday night, Lakshmi Manchu took to her Twitter page to clear the air. The actress-turned-producer tweeted, "I feel humbled that my wonderful fans and the media think I can be a good leader. With all due respect, I am NOT contesting 4 this election." She added, "I am and will continue to support the one and only @narendramodi. My family was the 1st in the film fraternity to have personally met w him."

On Friday, Pawan Kalyan met Narendra Modi to make an alliance between his Jana Sena Party and the BJP. On Monday evening, Akkineni Nagarjuna also visited his residence to express his support to him. Lakshmi Manchu is the latest Tollywood star to make a public announcement about her support for NaMo.
