Manam First Weekend Collection USA Box Office: Nag Sets New Record

Telugu movie Manam has received fantabulous response in the international market. Late legendary Tollywood actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao's last movie has done superb collection at the USA Box Office in the first weekend and topped the business chart, beating other biggies like Kochadaiyaan and Heropanti. In this country, it has become the biggest opener for Akkineni family heroes like Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya.

Released in 108 in America on May 22, Manam opened to an overwhelming response in the preview shows on Thursday. The movie garnered a positive word of mouth from the viewers, which took its business upwards on the following days. The film has raked in Rs 4.96 crores ($ 844,271) from 108 screens at the USA Box Office in the first weekend. Its breakup is $ 95,473 on Thu, $ 213,511 on Fri, $ 260,327 on Sat and $ 274960 on Sun.

Manam has topped the USA business chart, while Kochadaiiyaan and Heropanti graced second and fourth places with their collection Rs 2.56 crores ($ 436,165) and Rs 13.37 lakhs ($ 22,750) respectively. Meanwhile, another new film Vikramasimha, the Telugu version of Rajinikanth's Kochadaiyaan has collected Rs 7.28 lakhs ($ 12,393) from 52 screens at the USA Box Office in the first weekend and landed in the fifth place.

Akkineni Nagarjuna is one of the superstars of Telugu film industry, who enjoy huge amount of fan following in the America. Most of his recent releases like Shirdi Sai, Damarukam, Greeku Veerudu and Bhai have done wonderful business at the USA Box Office. But his latest outing Manam has done huge amount of collection, which none of these films have been able to achieve in their life-time.

Manam has not only become the biggest opener for Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya, but has also turned out to be the third biggest grosser in the opening weekend in the country in 2014 after 1: Nenokkadine and Race Gurram.
