Rambha
and
members
of
her
family
have
been
slapped
with
the
charges
of
abuse
and
dowry
harassment.
Pallavi,
wife
of
Rambha's
brother
P
Srinivas
Rao
has
filed
a
case
against
them
at
the
the
Banjara
Hills
police
station
on
July
22.
In
her
complaint,
the
actress'
sister-in-law
has
claimed
that
the
family
has
been
allegedly
abusing
her
mentally
and
physically
for
the
past
few
years.
Rambha's
sister-in-law
Pallavi
sought
the
court's
direction
to
police
for
booking
of
a
case
the
family,
stating
that
they
had
been
harassing
her
for
bringing
additional
dowry.
The
Banjara
Hills
police
have
registered
a
case
against
the
actress'
family
under
relevant
sections
of
Dowry
Prohibition
Act,
says
a
police
office.
In
a
statement
to
the
media,
V
Satyanarayana,
the
Deputy
Commissioner
of
Police,
said,
"It's
a
court
referred
matter.
Following
the
court
directions,
a
dowry
harassment
case
been
registered.
Rambha
has
been
named
as
an
accused
in
the
case.
We
are
examining
witnesses.
Further
investigations
are
on."
Rambha's
brother
P
Srinivas
Rao
got
married
to
Pallavi
in
1999
and
the
couple
have
two
children.
But
Pallavi
was
staying
with
her
parents
following
some
disputes
with
her
husband.
Satyanarayana
added,
"In
February
this
year,
she
had
lodged
a
complaint
against
her
husband
and
subsequently
moved
the
court
three
days
ago."
