Ravi Teja's Power starring Hansika Motwani and Regina Cassandra in the female leads, has concluded the first weekend with fantastic collection at the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Box Office. The Bobby aka KS Ravindra-directed movie has beaten records of Ravi Teja's previous hit films and become the biggest opener for the Mass Maharaja.
Power is one of the most-hyped Telugu movies of 2014
and its promos had created lot of curiosity among the film goers.
The makers of the film made advance ticket booking available more
than seven days before its release in theatres and it had
registered decent amount of booking for the first weekend. Amidst
huge hype and expectations, the movie released in 900+ theatres
worldwide on September 12.
The Ravi Teja, Hansika and Regina starrer opened to an
earth-shattering response on its opening day. Power
registered 100% occupancy in most of the single screens and
multiplexes on Friday. It did superb collection at the AP and
Telangana Box Office on the first day. With its fantastic business,
the film broke the record of Balupu, which was the biggest
opener for Ravi Teja.
Power garnered mixed response from both film critics
and movie buffs. The business of the film dropped considerably on
Saturday. It showed improvements on Sunday, but its collection
remained low when compared to its opening day business. The movie
has collected Rs 13.79 crores at the AP and Telangana Box Office in
the first weekend. Its breakup is Rs 5.14 cr on Fri, Rs 4 cr on Sat
and Rs 4.65 on Sun.
Power, which is produced by Kannada filmmaker Rockline Venkatesh, has also released in large number of screens in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, other parts of North India and the USA, where it has made equally better business in the first weekend. The makers of the movie are yet to reveal the details of its collection in these areas.
