Telugu
actor
Sampoornesh
Babu
and
director
Steven
Sankar,
who
are
basking
in
success
of
their
first
film
Hrudaya
Kaleyam,
were
attacked
by
a
group
of
youth
belonging
to
high
profile
political
and
businessman
families
of
Hyderabad.
The
actor
and
director
were
partying
at
a
hotel
in
Banjara
Hills
on
Saturday
night,
when
the
youngsters
assaulted
them
verbally
and
physically.
According
to
reports,
those
youngsters
were
upset
with
Steven
Sankar
for
casting
awkward
looking
Sampoornesh
Babu
for
the
lead
role
and
making
spoofs
of
popular
Telugu
heroes.
The
guys,
who
were
heavily
drunk,
reportedly
cornered
the
director
and
got
into
verbal
fight
with
him.
When
Steven
went
to
defend
his
stand,
they
got
irked
and
attacked
him
with
bottles
and
plates.
The
director
reportedly
sustained
severe
injuries
soaking
in
blood
all
over.
Meanwhile,
Sampoornesh
Babu
intervened
and
tried
to
defend
Steven
Shankar,
but
he
also
got
thrashed
by
them.
The
hotel
management
immediately
called
the
Madhapur
police,
who
ran
to
the
spot
and
brought
peace
between
both
the
parties.
It
is
said
that
the
police
did
not
want
to
create
fuss
over
the
fight
as
it
might
create
problem
for
them
in
the
election
season.
So
they
settled
the
dispute
without
making
it
public.
Reports
suggest
that
they
have
not
registered
a
case
on
this
issue.
However,
an
official
comment
on
the
fight
is
yet
to
come
from
both
the
actor-director
duo
and
the
police.
