As announced earlier, Baahubali The Conclusion, the much awaited second installment of Rajamouli's magnum opus, Baahubali, is not making its way to theaters in summer 2016. Though the producer of the film promises that it will surely hit screens in 2016, they are yet to lock an exact date.
Producer Shobu Yarlagadda admitted that the reports that informed Baahubali 2 is delayed were true. He thinks the reason behind it is also because they have celebrated the success of the first part for a longer time while the VFX being the main reason.
"Due to the time taken for VFX and special effects, the release which was scheduled for next summer, has been pushed back to the end of 2016. The VFX is being done by multiple studios but lead studio executing the major work is Makuta VFX.", the producer said, talking at a recent interview.
Understanding the share of VFX in the huge of success of Baahubali, the makers do not want to compromise on the graphics in the film as there is a grand war sequence planned in the second installment too like in the first part.
He further added that the budget has been scaled up for Baahubali 2. "Baahubali 1 and 2 was to be made on a budget of $40 million, but now we are scaling up the production as it is likely to touch $50 million as expectations are huge for the sequel . Contrary to rumours there are no new additions to the original star cast. India release of Baahubali 2 will happen only end 2016; the exact date and month are still being worked out. ", said Shobu.
However, the holiday time of the cast and crew is over. The pre-production works are already in progress and the team is gearing up to start shooting end of this month or in the first week of December.
