Vinayak reportedly said that he made a blunder with Akhil and requested the audience as well as film fraternity to excuse for the loss, while he assured to bounce back with a super hit with his next film.
He further added that every director tends to commit mistakes after a while and opined that expect Rajamouli every top director went through a low phase. Talking openly for the first time about the film's debacle, V V Vinayak expressed his regret, going on a wrong path in handling the film but stressed the point that he thought it would be a perfect story for launching a hero of Akhil's stature.
Apparently, many reports informed that Vinayak has also plunged into save few distributors, who were badly affected by Akhil's failure, by repaying them from his own pocket. The reports further added that Vinayak returned half of his pay to producers, taking the responsibility for the film's poor performance.
While the truth in the reports are yet to be confirmed, V V Vinayak is gearing up to direct Chiranjeevi's comeback film. Since the combination delivered a blockbuster like Tagore earlier, the yet to start Kaththi remake has already garnered huge buzz.
