Is Bahubali An Inspiration For The Mammoth 1000 Cr Budgeted Mahabharatha Venture?

Until mid-2015, there were no signs of making a historical or a mythological movie either in Southern or Northern part of the film industry. Post the inundating response and success braced by Bahubali, either regions of the film industries are keen on making movies on the said genre.

It was Bollywood's King Khan who first expressed his wish of making an epic movie based on Mahabharatha. Though it has been noted, voiced out and projected that it is ace director SS Rajamouli's lifetime dream to direct Mahabharatha as a movie, he had as well mentioned that the movie on the said lines would consume a lot of time, money, effort and dedication and that the concept of making the movie can be thought or conceived post completion and release of Bahubali.

SS Rajamouli has been a major contributor for the idea of Mahabharatha as a movie. The latest buzz is that the movie would be made on a grand scale of 1000 Cr budget with the billionaire businessman and philanthropist, Dr. B R Shetty, who is based in Dubai.

The extravaganza would be based on Jnanpith award-winning novel Randamoozham, which has been penned by MT Vasudevan Nair. The movie would be narrated from Bhima's (one of the five Pandavas) point of view and Mohanlal is said to have been roped in for the role.

The action cut for the movie will be handled by a noted ad film maker, VA Shrikumar and is said to etch the movie in two parts which will be released by 2020 with just 90 days difference between both Part 1 and Part 2.

If the plan is executed accordingly, then the movie would be the biggest ever movie from the Indian origin as the makers are planning to shoot the movie in English, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu which will see an enormous release in multiple Indian languages and other foreign languages as well.

Mahabharatha is a tale which every Indian and many non-Indians would be keen to watch on the celluloid screen and the makers are planning to cater the movie to almost 3 Billion audience across the globe.

However, it's the budget of the movie that left people astonished as recovering a gigantic figure of over 1000 Cr is no joke. But with the wonders created by both SS Rajamouli's Bahubali, The Beginning, one can easily gain in confidence to invest gargantuan figures into a movie with a universal content and an ensemble star cast.

The marketing strategy used by Rajamouli which made the name Bahubali, linger in the ears and minds of audience even before its release is something which needs to be adapted by the big budgeted movie makers to rake in as much as possible during its initial weekend which heavily banks upon advanced bookings.

If Bahubali 2 - The conclusion attains its expected success status, then many such adventurous ventures with huge figures and experimental storylines could be brought on the silver screen.
No wonder Bahubali has brought in a revolution into the film industry!
