Actress Sameera Reddy is a popular face in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu films. The former actress is now a social media influencer who works for empowering women, especially on body shaming and mental health issues.

Her Instagram handle's bio reads, 'Messy Mama, Happiness Creator, Imperfectly Perfect.' She has 2 million followers on her account. She often shares incidents and her experiences from life with her followers and fans to spread positivity reinforcement and promote confidence.

Her posts and reels featuring her mother-in-law are quite popular, defying the usual 'Saas-Bahu' stereotype. Recently, in an interview, Sameera Reddy opened up once again about her pregnancy struggles, body weight, and health.

According to a report in Eenadu, Sameera Reddy recounted her days of initial pregnancy and weight gain. She said, 'I and Akshai Varde got married in 2014 on our terrace. Our is a simple wedding, and both families have come together for it. When my marriage was announced, people assumed that I was pregnant and got married in a hurry. But it is not the truth.

During my first pregnancy, I underwent several issues. In 2015, I gave birth to my son, and I have put on so much weight. Many people commented on my body weight and physique. One day, a vegetable vendor also commented saying, "Didi what happened to you? Is this really you?" Their comments made me scared. I didn't go out fearing photographers."

Sameera further mentioned,"I have become super busy personally and wanted to get in touch with my fans. What better a platform for us to connect apart from social media? I joined Instagram and sought support from industry friends to boost it. I called them up to promote my account. None of them helped me out which is actually a sad truth."Sameera Reddy, the 44-year-old actress made her debut as an actress in a ghazal 'Aur Aahista,' a music video in 1997. She appeared as a lead actress in a Tamil film titled Citizen, but it didn't materialize. She then ventured into Bollywood in 2002 with Maine Dil Tujhko Diya.

In 2004, Sameera Reddy, whose father is a Telugu, made her Tollywood debut opposite Jr NTR in Narasimhudu. She then acted in Ashok alongside Jr NTR in 2006 and in Jai Chiranjeeva opposite megastar Chiranjeevi.
