A gripping love story without masala
Bharat, who made his debut appearance in Boys (For the people), proved himself in Premiste, the Telugu version of Kaadal. Cashing in on his image, Bharat's latest Tamil film was dubbed into Telugu titled Vijetha. Moreover, the film has two heroines, Gopika and Gajala, who are also well known faces among the Telugu audiences.

Tirupataiah (Nazar) has a provision store. He works hard and reaches a stage of financial stability when he could feed his family and lead a comfortable life. However, the problem with him is that he believes everyone should work hard and should not sit idle. Tirupataiah is quite short tempered and gets irritated with the smalllest things. He has a son called Krishna (Bharat) and a daughter. He does not buy him good clothes neither does he provide for him a bike to go to college -because he thinks that they are just "fashion symbols". Tirupataiah's accounts are being looked after by one auditor called Balu, whose daughter Divya (Gajala) likes Krishna and proposes. But Krishna refuses her proposal because he is in love with his sister-in-law Janani (Gopika).

He reveals that Tirupataiah had a bitter fight with his brother-in-laws and both their families went their seperate separated. Though Krishna and Janani could not meet each other for about 10 years since their families were not on talking terns with each other. But they maintained their relationship. Tirupataiah and his family visit his father-in-law's house following the latter's death, where Krishna and Janani meet again and feel very happy for their union. Krishna kisses Janani and Tirupataiah becomes furious and thrashes Krishna severely and leaves. But Janani hides in the car and reaches Krishna's house. Irked over this, Tirupataiah throws both of them out. Unable to do anything, Krishna approaches Balu, who promised him a job some time ago and gets a job in a poultry company.

He gets married and grows up in the job and becomes a big officer and buys a bungalow and car. As a responsible brother, he searches for a good boy as bridegroom for his sister and returns to his home only to give the details about the boy. At that time, he makes it very clear that he had no grudge against his father saying, it is because of his strict discipline he was able to be stubborn and could work hard with determination. Krishna also tells him that he had also learnt on how one should not treat his wife and children also from his father. These words make him realize what mistake he did and Tirupataiah unites with his son during the engagement of Divya. The film ends on a happy note.

Plus Points
The performance by Bharat and Gopika is worth watching. However, it is Nazar, who has walked away with honours, due to his fantastic performance. His performance is a major plus point of the film. Vidyasagar's music is okay. Gajala filled the glamour slot by shaking her legs with Bharat in one song. The director's ability in capturing the emotions in the camera made the film more interesting. There were several close up shots with different moods of the hero and heroine. Bharat's performance as an innocent boy reminds the 'Premiste' film once again.

Minus Points
Lack of nativity is the only minus point in the film. Choreography of songs should have been more interesting to capture the pulse of the youth. There are very few mass elements and the film may not pull more masses in the absence of any mass masala incidents. Moreover, there is no item song kind of number to pull the front benchers. The film is worth watching because of its gripping subject but there is very few scenes that give entertainment. Vadivelu's comedy is just okay.

Final Remarks:
The basic story of the film is how a father should not treat his son and at the same time, it gives a good message that a father should treat his son like that in order to make him learn what is determination and hard work. There is a quite contrast in these two sentences but the director tried to prove it, with a touch of love in the backdrop.
