Neelima Thirumalasetty turned producer with Pawan Kalyan's 2011 big-budget film Panjaa, which was co-produced by Nagesh Muntha, Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni. Learning the lesson from it, she has now independently made the small budget film Alias Janaki, which introduces new member from Mega family to the film industry.
Alias Janaki is a romantic action flick with a few masala ingredients. The film is serious drama with a message to the society. Director K Dhayaa's unique story and Shravan's music and background score are two main highlights of the film. Weak screenplay, expressionless hero, illogical and dragging narration are some of main drawbacks of the movie, which spoil the beauty of the film.
Janakiram (Venkat) is an honest and fearless government servant, working in the Town Planning division of the GHMC. His honesty becomes an obstacle for illegal land grabber Maisa, who is planing to take over Lal nagar lands. Maisa strikes back at him when Janaki tries to stop him. What happens next will form the crux of the story.

Dhayaa has chosen an unique storyline, which has not been much explored in the past, but he has failed to execute it on the screen in a convincing way. His poor screenplay and illogical flow of the scenes does not offer a good viewing experience to the viewers.
Rahul Venkat's Acting Debut
The biggest letdown in the film is its hero. Much was expected from the mega family member Rahul Venkat, who has debuted in films with Alias Janaki, but he has failed to meet the viewers' expectations. He has maintained the same expression in all scenes in the film. If he wants to stay in the industry, he must learn to emote well.
As the heroine, Anisha Ambrose looks elegant and she has tried her best to do justice to her role. As villain Maisa, Sathru has delivered wonderful performance and he seems to be overtaking the hero. Others like Tanikella Bharani, Nagababu and Sri Ramya have done justice to their roles.
Technical Values In AJ
Alias Janaki has decent production values, and Shravan's music and background scores are the main attraction. Sujith Sarang's camera work is another big strength of the film. He has captured a couple of songs nicely. Sreejith Sarang's editing is also good, but the movie could have been even better, if he had trimmed illogical and dragging scenes.
Alias Janaki - Verdict
Alias Janaki has a good storyline, but the director has failed to execute it on screen and has also failed to tap out better performance from the hero. Overall, the film is an average fare.
