Story:
Lingaa is a historical action thriller, which portrays the story of King Lingeswaran who sacrifices everything for building a dam. The movie depicts the issue of the Mullaiperiyar Dam which was constructed in 1890's when India was ruled by Britishers.
Cast Performance:
Rajinikanth's acting in the movie has already created a trend across the globe. The legendary actor has given his best performance in action, dialogue delivery and dance sequence which is the highlight of the movie. Southern actress Anushka Shetty's onscreen chemistry opposite Thalaiva is a big treat to watch out, their pairing has been a great success. This is Tamil debut movie of Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha and has garnered huge appreciations for her de-glamorized role in the movie.
Script and Direction
Lingaa acquires the interesting story line shot in two periods, pre-independence and post-independence. The story is penned by Pon Kumaran and directed by KS Ravikumar. The script includes high-octane action, romance, comedy, and patriotism of a man for his country. Cinematography is handled by Randy and he has succeeded to capture the beauty of Karnataka and its surrounding.

AR Rahman has composed the magical songs and background music for the movie, which has been liked by all Rajini fans from the day of its release.
