Directed by Surender Reddy, Race Gurram is a complete family entertainer with all the commercial ingredients. Allu Arjun's stylish performance is the main highlight of the film. Surender's engrossing narration and dialogues, S Thaman's songs and background score, Manoj Paramahamsa's brilliant picturisation, Shruti Hassan's glamour, Brahmanandam's comedy, well-choreographed action and dance sequences and beautiful costumes and art direction and exotic locales are other attractions in the film.

The story of Race Gurram lacks freshness and is somewhat similar to plot of flop Telugu movie Tadakha. But Surender Reddy has included some of very interesting twist and turns in the narration that makes the film an interesting watch. In bid to woo the mass audience, the director has nicely blended all commercial elements like romance, sentiment, action, comedy, glamour and trendy music.

Race Gurram opens with Sunil's voice over and then heads to introduce the characters of Allu Arjun and Kick Shyam. The first half of the film has a couple of romantic songs, a few comedy and an action scene, which keeps the audience engaged. The fight before the interval bang sets a moment for the film and post interval, the film goes into serious mode. There are several funny moments in the second half too.

Written by Vakkantham Vamsi, Race Gurram revolves around the story of two brothers Ram (Kick Shyam) and Lucky (Allu Arjun), who do things differently. While one brother follows rules and regulations, the other tries to achieve it in his own way. How Ram becomes a rival to Lucky? What will happen next? The rest of the film will answer these questions.

As usual, Allu Arjun has delivered wonderful performance in Race Gurram. He impresses the viewers with his action, dance and comedy timing. With his trendy costumes, the actor has set a new style statement for himself in this movie. Shruti Hassan has also done her best and rock you with her glamour. Saloni Aswani and Shaam, who have important roles in it, have done justice their characters.

As Kill Bill Pandey and Mr Bean Prakash, Bramhanandam and Prakash Raj tickle the funny bones of the viewers. As MLA Govardhan, Posani Krishna Murali also creates a laugh riot in the cinema halls. Ravi Kishan, Suhasini, MS Narayana, Raghu Babu, Siva Reddy and others have also done justice to their respective roles.

Race Gurram has sound production elements and SS Thaman's soundtracks and background score are the main attractions in the technical department. His songs have already become chartbusters. His background score helps the director to heighten the effect of many scenes. Cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa has also done brilliant job, which is one of the big assets of the film. Especially, his picturisation of beautiful locales in song sequences is a visual treat.

Ram-Lakshman's choreography of fight sequences is good and one of the attractions in Race Gurram. The dance choreography is another big asset of the film. The selection of costumes and location is fantastic. The art direction is good and beautiful. Goutham Raju's editing is also commendable. The director is successful in tapping out right kind of work from all the technical department.

Overall, Race Gurram has excellent performances by lead actors, engrossing narration and rich production values, but lacks a fresh plot. It is a good family entertainer that will also impress the mass audience. It is a must watch movie for Bunny and Surender fans. Continue to read Race Gurram movie review by viewers in the slideshow.
