Run Raja Run - Movie Review

Sujeeth has made debut as a director with Sharwanand and Seerat Kapoor starrer Telugu movie Run Raja Run. He has become the youngest filmmaker in Telugu film industry. His first directorial venture, which has been produced by Pramod Uppalapati and Vamsi Krishna Reddy under the banner UV Creations, has released in theatres across the globe today (August 1, 2014).

Run Raja Run is youthful romance drama with high entertainment quotient and Sharwanand's performance is the main attraction of the film. Sujeeth's interesting story and absorbing screenplay, Gibran's songs and background score, Madhie's cinematography, Seerat Kapoor's glamour and a few comedy and sentimental sequences are other highlights of the movie.

Sujeeth has penned an interesting story for Run Raja Run, which looks fresh and unique in parts. But the director seems to have taken inspiration from various hit Telugu movies as a few scenes of of the film seems to have been copied from Tagore, Athadu and Vastadu Naa Raju. The movie has a few interesting twists and turns. The director has added all the commercial ingredients to woo the mass audience.

Run Raja Run opens with a kidnapping scene, which is similar to Athadu. Sharwanand's introduction song is superb. A couple of romantic and funny songs and some comedy scenes are the main highlight in first half of the film. A superb twist before the interval sets a momentum for the movie. Some interesting twists, comedy and chase scenes are the big attraction in the second half. The climax is also good.

Raja (Shawanand) is a young guy with a different attitude. While he is in search for a girl, who is a perfect match for him, he bumps in to Priya (Seerath Kapoor), the daughter of police officer Sampath (Dileep Kumar), who has been assigned a special task of finding the culprit behind a series of kidnappings happening in the city. Raja falls in love with Priya.

Priya conveys her love affair to her father Sampath, who approves their relationship, but he sets a condition that Raja should complete special task of nabbing the kidnapper to get her love. A twist makes things take a U turn. How Raja unravels the kidnapping mystery will form the crux of the story.

Sharwanand has a tailor made role in Run Raja Run, which is a complete make over for him. He has delivered brilliant performance in the movie. He impresses the viewers and with his uber cool look. Newcomer Seerat Kapoor has tried her best to do justice to her role. She impresses the audience with her glamour. Sharwa-Seerat chemistry is a treat. Adavi Sesh's performance is a big asset to the film. Jayaprakash, Dileep Kumar Ali and others have also done justice to their roles.

Run Raja Run has fantastic production elements and Gibran's music is the main highlight in the technical front. Especial his background score is a big asset of the film. Madhie's camera work is excellent and it is visual treat. Other technical departments have also delivered commendable jobs. Thanks to UV Creations for its endeavour.

Overall, Run Raja Run is a fabulous entertainer, which has an interesting story with enough and brilliant performance by Sharwanand and others.
