After delivering a blockbuster hit, Temper, just a few months ago, Puri Jagannadh is back with another promising film, Jyothi Lakshmi. Let us re-view the film to know whether the film continues the success streak of the director or not.
Jyothi Lakshmi Story:
It is a story of a prostitute, and how a series of life changing events changed her attitude towards love and marriage. To keep it precise, it's Jyothi Lakshmi's fight against society to bring her life in to her own hands.
Charmi delivers a breath taking performance and has brought out the best in her. She sizzled like an item bomb in the first half and evolved like a time bomb in the second part. Charmi makes belief of the role she played with her unusual energy and hot looks. She appears to be an apt one to play a Puri Jagannadh's lead.
Satyadeva scored some brownie points with his skillful performance and he is surely an amazing find of Puri, like Ram Gopal Varma tweeted earlier. Bramhanandam, Sampoornesh and Saptagiri managed to add in few laughs.
The movie was set in Goa and the beautiful locales were used aptly though the quality of the film looks little compromised. Like almost all Puri Jagannadh's films, this film too gets a thumbs down on its production values.
Dialogues in the film were hilarious and the element of punch is too high. Puri Jagannadh was at his best in dealing with the dialogues for this film. Surprisingly, Jyothi Lakshmi was little dragging and lacks Puri's trade mark racy screen-play.
Cinematography, editing and music could have been better.
Some amazing dialogues by Puri Jagannadh were actually the eye-openers you can't afford to miss. If you ignore some loud and jarring moments, Jyothi Lakshmi is yet another decent flick from Puri Jagannadh. Give it a watch.
Charmi was introduced with the song Jyothi Lakshmi.
The movie features a different kind of love story and it only Puri can deal such stories convincingly.
Charmi killed it in a bold prostitute role and surely deserves some hooting for her dynamic performance.
The male lead of the film, Satyadeva is surely an amazing find by Puri and now you understand why Ram Gopal Varma was all praises for the actor.
Puri trademark dialogues were the major asset of the film.
Charmi sets the screen on fire with her her looks.
Few dialogues in the climax takes the film to the ultimate high.
Though the quality of the film is little compromised, Jyothi Lakshmi makes an entertaining watch.
