Adhi Pinisetty's Malupu, directed by his brother Satya Prabhas Pinisetty is out in theaters this Friday. The film stars Nikki Galrani in the female lead and is made based on a real incident that took place in Chennai.

Rating:
2.0/5

Malupu Story:

It is a real incident that happened in a happy-go-lucky guy's life, whose world is his friends. He falls in love with Kayal and while everything in his life is pretty smooth, a shocking incident takes place, which disturbs his friendships and love life completely, leading him to go on a search mission for an underworld don.

What is it that dragged a middle class guy into a spat with a Mumbai based Don? How did he fight back the unexpected twist in his life?, the series of happenings forms the rest of the story. Read Malupu Movie Review in detail, in the slides below.

Aadhi Pinisetty

Aadhi Pinisetty, who is popular for his work in Vaishali, did his best and has got a great push in the film, to showcase his skills. Love, action, comedy and suspense is well carried out by the actor.

Nikki Galrani

Nikki Galrani though appeared bubbly and pretty on-screen, she was unimpressive with her acting skills.

Love Story

The film plots a cute love track between the lead pair but it looses it charm as the film take a different turn in no time.

Director

Director Satya Prabhas seems to have heavily inspired by many classics of 90's and has lost the trick of mixing them all into one film.

Direction

Though a few scenes in the film looks interesting, the director was unable to blend them well and was evidently confused.

Technical Aspects

The film's songs and background score by Prasan Praveen Shyam, left no impact, which obviously effected the mood of the film.

Cinematography

Cinematography and production values of the film were okay.

Overview:

Though the film managed to keep up the enthusiasm at parts, trying to mix different genres into one film killed the essence of the film, thus making it not belong to anything in particular. There is a friendship angle to the story, after which it turns out to be a love saga and it eventually converts to an action film. In the latter part of the film, you will see a psychological thriller only to return back to friendship drama.

Took many ingredients too spoils the dish. The film was released in Tamil, last year, as Yagavarayinum Naa Kaakka and it failed to click at the box office. It might be on a similar note in the Telugu market too, since it missed out the point and ended up as a bore.

Meanwhile, let us know your take on Malupu, by leaving your opinions in the comments box below.

Nikki Galrani, who also stars in Krishnashtami, the another release this Friday, might have to pin her hopes to that film, while Adhi Pinishetty appears to have already shifted his focus to his next release, Allu Arjun's Sarrainodu, where he is playing a villain.
