2023 Telugu Movies First Quarter Report: Blockbuster & Hit Movies
In the year 2023, Tollywood had a great start with two big banner movies being released for Sankranthi that became blockbusters and followed by some smaller banner films making huge profits at the box-office like Das Ka Dhamki and Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha that became big hits as well. The bilingual film Sir/Vaathi, which stars Tamil actor Dhanush, became a critical and commercial success both in Tamil and in Telugu. In the first quarter, not only did commercial films become superhits, but also content-oriented films like Balagam and Writer Padmabhushan did well on the box office. Listed below are a few of the Telugu movies in the first quarter of 2023 that became blockbusters and big hits so far.

Veera Simha Reddy
Natasimham Balakrishna's high voltage action entertainer movie Veera Simha Reddy directed by Gopichand Malineni and produced by Mythri Movie Makers banner which is released on the eve of Sankranthi in theaters and became a huge blockbuster at the box-office and it collected 133.82 crores.
Waltair Veerayya
Mega star Chiranjeevi's emotional revenge action entertainer movie Waltair Veerayya directed by Bobby Kolli and produced by Mythri Movie Makers banner released on Jan 13 for Sankranthi in theaters and became a blockbuster at the box office it collected 220.66 crores gross. Ravi Teja's extended cameo performance was a major highlight of the film.
Writer Padmabhushan
Actor Suhas' romantic family entertainer movie Writer Padmabhushan was released in theaters on February 3rd and became a superhit at the box office. This movie received very good critics reviews and got very good word-of-mouth appreciation.
Sir
Tamil actor Dhanush's bilingual film Sir was released in theaters on February 17th and is directed by Venky Atluri. Sir's movie was like a tailor-made character for Dhanush and his exile in each frame. The film did well at the box office in both languages. Songs and dialogues were the backbone of the film.
Balagam
Comedian Venu Tillu made a bang with his directional debut through the family drama film Balagam and still running houseful in Telangana region. The emotions in the film connected very well with the audience and they felt very emotional after watching the film. Even its OTT release also became successful. Venu received huge applause from the industry as well as from the audience.
Das Ka Dhamki
The comedy action thriller Das Ka Dhamki, directed by Vishwak Sen, set a fire at the box office and received a resounding response during its theatrical release. The versatility of Vishwak was evident in both of his roles. Leon James' songs were the highlights of the film.
Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha
Kiran Abbavaram was struggling to get one hit film but nothing was working in his favour for him after getting a project in GA2 banner his luck worked out. Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha movie is apt for his attitude and he made everything should perfect. Comedy episodes are a real stress buster in the film and this movie made a decent profit at the box-office.
Dasara
Nani's most awaited movie of the year Dasara released in theaters on March 30th and got career best reviews and ratings for Nani. Debutant director Srikanth Odela became talk of the town after the release of Dasara. His capable of handling this huge project for debut movie is not so easy. Nani gave his career best perofrmance in Dasara and making huge collections at box-office.
