Mohanlal To Unni Munkundan; Mollywood Actors With Their First 100 Crore Movies

Mohanlal is one of the popular and multi-taleneted actors in the Malayalam film industry. Fondly known as Laletten, the actor is not popular only in Malayalam but also the world. He is one of the highest paid actors in the industry, who has a huge fan-followers across the nation. Mohanlal started his acting career in 1980, which is also considered as the golden age of Malayalam cinema. By playing wide variety of charcaters on silver screen, his contribution to Malayalam Cinema is incomparable a worth appreciating. He has delivered several super hit movies at the box office, it inlcudes Kireedam, Bharatham , Drishyam  and many more. 

Directed by Vyshakan 'Pulimuragan' is the first movie of the actor, which entered into 100 crores movies club. The film was hit the theatres in 2016, had collected 100 crores at the box-office. Pulimurugan still remains the highest grosser in the state after six years. It has been broken record box-office collection of several hit movies in Malayalam.

Mammootty starrer 'Madhuraja' had  collecetd Rs .9.5 crores on the opening day at the box office. Directed by Vyshakh, the film is a sequel to 2010 Malayalam film 'Pokiri Raja'. Featuring Mammootty, Jagapathi Babu, Jai, Anusree and Siddique  in lead roles, the film was a commercial hit at the box-office. It also  marks second collaboration of actor Mammootty with Vykshak, after sucess of Pokiriraja. In the movie, actor Mammotty who played the role of 'Raja', garnered attention of cinephiles around us. The film released in 2010, which received positive reviews. Apart from this, his another films  such as Mamangam and Beeshmapravam also entered into the 100 crore movies club. 

The young and talented actor also comes under this list. He made his acting debut in  in 2010 with the Vineeth Sreenivasan directorial Malarvaadi Arts Club and has now emerged as one of the finest actors in Mollywood industry. His stardom rose to peak after 'Premam'.The actor who played romantic-roles initially, later he opted  unconventional choices to break away from the mould of 'chocolate hero'. 

Directed by Roshan Andrews, the film 'Kayamkulam Kochunni' is the only one movie of actor, which entered into the 100 crores movies club. Based on a real story, the film features actor Nivin Pauly in titular role. Scripted by Bobby & Sanjay, the film received positive responses from audience as well as critics.

Starring Dulquer Salman in lead role, the film 'Kurupp' has emerged as the highest-grossing Malayalam movie at the Kerala box office, in 2021. Billed as a biographical drama, 'Kurupp' which directed by Srinath Rajendran is the first movie of actor Dulquer Salman, which crossed over 100 crores at the box-office. 

Apart from Malayalam, the film was also released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. Made upon a small budget, the film is produced by Wayfarer Films and M Star Entertainments and also featured  Sobhita, Indrajith, Tovino, Sunny Wayne, Shine Tom Chacko appeared in a supporting roles.

Unni Mukundan’s recent Malayalam film, Malikappuram is a block buster hit at the box-office. The film was made on a small budget around Rs 3.5 crore and   reached 100 crore club on the 40th day after its release. It also marks first 100 crore film of actor Unnimukundan. 

Like a mythological drama, the film is written by by Abhilash Pillai and directed by Vishnu Sasi Shankar. It features Unni Mukundan,  Deva Nandha, Sreepath , Saiju Kurup, Ramesh Pisharody and TG Ravin in lead roles. Apart from released in Malayalam, the film also available in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada languages.
