Cinephiles have been eagerly waiting for Alpha ever since the trailer was unveiled. While the film has created buzz, the big question remains- will Alpha smash a sixer on the first day?
According to a report in Sacnilk, the movie has earned Rs 2.30 crore (gross) across India till July 2. The action thriller has sold 70,553 tickets from 8,168 shows, the website reported. The majority of the advance earnings can be attributed to the Hindi 2D shows as the movie collected Rs 2.26 crore from 69,335 tickets across 8,155 shows. Premium formats like Dolby Cine earned Rs 8,850 from 23 tickets, while ICE added Rs 35,360 from 61 tickets. If we consider the blocked seats, Alpha’s opening-day advance booking will increase to Rs 4.53 crore. Earlier this year, Dhurandhar 2 created ripples in the cinema halls as it set the cash registers jingling. The spy thriller starring Ranveer Singh smashed all the box office records as it minted over Rs 42 crore in terms of advance booking for the opening day. If we add the blocked seats to Alpha's tally, the numbers will still not be able to match Dhurandhar 2's earnings from the advance booking. Alpha will earn 1/10th of Dhurandhar 2's advance booking collection. Alpha, co-starring Sharvari, Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor, needs to earn over Rs 165 crore to be declared a massive hit.
