As reported by TOI, the officials said that more than 5.24 lakh people continue to remain affected across 5 districts. In Charaideo, the worst-hit district, nearly 1.9 lakh people are still struggling with the floodwater. With two more people adding to the death list in Charaideo, the death toll has climbed to 68 in Assam due to the flood this year. While the flood situation continues to grab attention, celebrities from the industry have urged netizens to support the victims. Bhumi Pednekar has been actively sharing stories and social media posts surrounding the Assam flood horror. Highlighting the critical need of the hour, Pednekar urged her fans and followers to provide aid. Sharing an emotional video, the actress captioned it, "Assam's drowning, you've shown up every time, show up for them now." Singer Papon, who originally hails from Assam, took to his official social media handles and urged everyone to show support for the victims. Sharing an emotional clip, he urged everyone to contribute to the relief funds and kits. Actress Adah Sharma, too, stepped up and shared visuals of the flood-affected areas on her Instagram. The Kerala Story actress also added the contact numbers in her caption.
