I know several youngsters who are inspired by Sourav Joshi's journey. When I met him at Opraah's party in Noida, I told him that his vlogs have attracted people of all ages. Despite all the popularity, it is humility that struck a chord with me.

. In an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat Assistant Editor Abhishek Ranjit, the YouTuber and entrepreneur got candid about his rise to fame, dealing with criticism, and his newly launched vlogging masterclass.

Here are excerpts from the interview-

Q. You started by sharing moments from your everyday life. Did you ever imagine that daily vlogging would turn into a career followed by over 40 million subscribers?

Sourav Joshi: "Nahi, bilkul bhi nahi. Jab maine shuru kiya tha tab maine kabhi numbers ke baare mein nahi socha tha. Mujhe bas camera uthake apna din record karna achha lagta tha. Every day, I focused on making one better vlog than the last. The audience connected with that realness, and everything else followed. Even today, I don't think about subscriber counts while filming; I think about whether my viewers will enjoy watching my day."

Q. Looking back, what were the key turning points that transformed you from a content creator into India's most-followed vlogger?

Sourav Joshi: "Mujhe lagta hai sabse bada turning point daily upload karna tha. Usse audience ko ek habit ban gayi ki roz milna hai. Slowly I started involving my family more naturally in the content, and viewers felt they were becoming part of our journey. As the audience grew, I kept investing in improving storytelling, production quality and creating memorable experiences, but I never changed the core of the content. It has always remained about real life."

Q. What challenges did you face while building your channel, and how did you overcome them?

Sourav Joshi: "Consistency is harder than people think. There are days when you're tired, travelling or dealing with personal issues, but the vlog still has to go. Managing privacy while living so much of your life online is another challenge. Lekin maine kabhi routine break nahi hone diya. Aur ek cheez maine seekhi ki har comment ko dil pe nahi lena chahiye. Positive feedback se seekho aur baaki cheezon ko slowly ignore karna bhi zaroori hai."

Q. What role do you think creators from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities are playing in shaping India's digital culture?

Sourav Joshi: "Bahut bada role hai inn creators ka. Aaj kaafi audience ko real stories dekhni hain. Chhote shehron ke creators apni language, apni family aur apni lifestyle ke saath content bana rahe hain. They're proving that you don't need to come from a metro city or have expensive equipment to build a massive audience. Good stories can come from anywhere."

Q. What is the one lesson from your own journey that every aspiring creator should know before starting?

Sourav Joshi: "Start with whatever you have and don't wait for perfect conditions. Most people spend too much time planning instead of creating. Bas upload karo. Jo cheezein aapko aaj nahi aati, woh practice se aa jaayengi. Agar aap start hi nahi karoge toh improve kaise kar paoge?"

Q. You've recently launched a basic vlogging masterclass on your app. What inspired you to create this course?

Sourav Joshi: "Itne saalon mein hazaron logon ne mujhse ek cheez sabse zyada puchhi hai-vlogging kaise shuru karein? Planning, shooting, editing, sab kuchh. I realised that instead of answering those questions individually, I could put everything I've learned into one course. Main chahta tha ki log woh mistakes na repeat karein jo maine starting mein ki thi aur unki journey thodi aasaan ho jaaye."

Q. How do you maintain engagement with viewers after years of daily content creation?

Sourav Joshi: "Sabse bada reason shayad yeh hai ki main camera ke aage koi aur banne ki koshish nahi karta. Itne saalon mein main apne viewers ke saath hi bada hua hoon. They appreciate honesty more than anything. I also keep listening to feedback, experimenting with new experiences, travelling and finding new stories within everyday life. As long as you're genuinely excited about what you're filming, that energy reaches the audience."

Q. How do you keep your content fresh while documenting everyday life?

Sourav Joshi: "Mujhe lagta hai har din mein kuch na kuch naya hota hi hai. Kabhi koi chhoti si baat, kabhi family ke saath time, kabhi travel, kabhi bas normal conversations. I also keep observing what excites me personally because if I'm genuinely enjoying the experience, viewers usually enjoy watching it too."
