Tia Bajpai interview: She calls being called the 'Horror Queen' a blessing but she wants to explore more. And she is ready to reinvent herself with a new music video titled Number 1. From making waves with her singing to ruling TV and then scaring everyone in Bollywood, the tinsel town diva has enjoyed success, striking a chord with the audience.
There's no prize for guessing that we are talking about Tia Bajpai. The Haunted 3D actress is now ready to take the viewers on a musical ride with Number 1. In an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat Assistant Editor Abhishek Ranjit, Tia got candid about donning multiple hats for the music video, penning the lyrics and collaborating with Arian Romal. Here are excerpts from the interview 1. Number 1 marks your debut as the lead actress in a music video, and you've also written its lyrics. What made this project so special that you decided to wear multiple creative hats? I'd been wanting to feature as an actor in a music video for a long time, but I was waiting for a project that truly resonated with me. When Number 1 came along, it felt like the right fit from the very beginning. I didn't just want to be part of the performance. I wanted to contribute creatively as well. Writing the lyrics gave me the opportunity to express the emotions exactly as I envisioned them, making the journey from concept to screen all the more meaningful. 2. Audiences have loved you in intense roles and often call you Bollywood's "Horror Queen." How excited are you to surprise fans with a completely new avatar in Number 1? I'm truly excited. As an artist, there's no greater reward than being recognized and appreciated for your work. Being called the "Horror Queen" is a reflection of the love my fans and audiences have given me over the years, and I'm incredibly grateful for that. At the same time, I don't want to be confined to a single genre. Number 1 gives audiences the opportunity to see a softer, more glamorous and musical side of me, and I hope they'll embrace this new avatar with the same love. 3. As the lyricist, how personal is Number 1 to you, and what emotions or experiences inspired your writing? The song is definitely close to my heart. It reflects confidence, self-worth and knowing your value. While every song has a bit of imagination, I believe the best lyrics come from genuine emotions, and that's what I tried to bring into Number 1. 4. How was it collaborating with Arian Romal, especially on a project that marks his return to Hindi music after seven years? It was a wonderful experience collaborating with Arian. He's incredibly passionate about music and pays great attention to every detail, which is something I truly admire. We've worked together on several projects over the years, so it felt like the perfect choice to make my music video debut with Number 1. His fresh perspective and international sound have brought a unique edge to the song, and I believe that's what makes Number 1 truly stand out. 5. After this experience, do you see yourself exploring songwriting and music projects more often alongside your acting career? Absolutely. Music has always been a big part of my life, and writing Number 1 made me realize how much I enjoy the creative process. I definitely want to continue writing, acting and exploring more projects where I can express myself in different ways.
